Tokyo Airbnb Dashboards
Updated Mar 1, 2023
Project Duration: Jan 2023 - Mar 2023
These dashboards were created in order to practice using Tableau and the language R, as well as something to use when planning my future trip to Japan.
Tableau Dashboard of Room Availability
The Tableau dashboard features an interactive map detailing zip codes and neighbors, and allows panning and zooming by default. There are also interactive charts, with dropdown filters which will change the charts and map based on room type availability.
R Dashboard of Most Reviews and Minimum Average Duration
This dashboard was created as a way to utilize data that was neither helpful nor necessary within the Tableau dashboard where the focus had been room type availability.
I compared the hosts with the most reviews, as well as the average reviews received monthly in 2019 and the ratio of total reviews to total airbnbs owned. While these reviews do not contain positive or negative ratings, they give us an idea for how popular a host might be based on the number of reviews in total, on average, and per airbnb.
Regarding the second visualization, my friends and I plan on staying a minimum of two weeks which led to my decision when calculating the average required duration, where I rounded down from 14 to 10 days for a cleaner number.
